Chef Ken Oringer is one of Boston's most notable chefs. A James Beard Award-winner, Oringer has built an empire of restaurants inspired by his travels around the world: Tsukiji Fish Market-style Uni sashimi bar and Italian enoteca Coppa in Boston; as well as Barcelona tapas bar Toro in Boston and NYC. Jamie Bissonnette is the James Beard Award-winning chef and partner of Boston favorites Coppa, an Italian enoteca, and Toro, the Barcelona-style tapas bar. Toro also has a home in New York City & Bangkok, Thailand. Bissonnette is a winner of the Cochon 555 nose-to-tail competition, was awarded the inaugural People’s Choice: Best New Chef award by Food & Wine magazine. Coppa is an enoteca known for its cozy atmosphere and inventive Italian small plates created by James Beard Award-winning Chefs Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer. The menu boasts a unique charcuterie program as well as pastas and pizzas from a wood burning fire oven. It includes both small and mid-sized plates designed to be shared tapas style amongst guests.
Located in the old Nabisco factories behind Chelsea Market, Toro New York is the latest creation from the team of Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette. Over 4 times the size of its' Boston sibling, Toro NYC offers an eclectic menu of traditional & modern Barcelona-style tapas featuring locally sourced & sustainable ingredients.
